National Park Huerquehue
Place Description
National Park Huerquehue, 35 miles northeast of Pucon

12,000 hectares of forest Araucaria, bamboo, waterfalls, canyons and numerous lakes.

There are four hiking trails, but only one is open in winter :

  • Los Lagos Trail : Trekking classic. Access to 3 lakes within 5 hours and 5 lakes in 7hours.
  • Los Huerquenes Trail : The trail Los Lagos : 3 or 4 days of walking are needed to make the turn. Opportunity to camp or sleep in shelters.
  • Quinchol Trail : 4h round trip, panoramic view of the volcanoes 6. It is necessary to have a good physical condition for this hike.
  • San Sebastián Trail : Following the trail Quinchol. 8:00 round trip up to the summit. This is the most difficult step due to its altitude (closed in winter).

If you want to go to the park, we advise you to visit our office for additional information such as weather, road conditions, snow etc

For camping, if you do not have the necessary, we can rent a tent, sleeping bag and air mattress. In winter you can rent trekking boots, gaiters and snowshoes. Check outthis page
